This documentary was created as my senior capstone project for graduating high school in partnership with the Norristown Hospitality Center. Working closely with the organization, I produced a short documentary that follows Blair’s journey as he worked toward securing a permanent home.
Unlike a scripted production, this film captured real events as they unfolded. During filming, Blair received the keys to his new home after experiencing homelessness and living in the park. The emotion and joy of that moment were completely genuine, an unforgettable experience that could never have been planned, scripted, or recreated.
This project taught me the importance of documentary storytelling, patience, and allowing authentic moments to shape the narrative. The film was recognized with Second Place in the Chester County Media & Design Competition, making it a meaningful milestone in my filmmaking journey.
